Oct 25, Tj rated it it was amazing Shelves: The plot moves along quickly. You have a hard time putting it down because you are afraid you'll "miss" something; I enjoyed the further development and growth of the characters in this second book of the series.
Because of the nature of the plot line I expected to have a lot more "yeah, right" moments but the author manages to weave in the "magical" elements of the story into a believable storyline. I look forward to more book by this author. Nov 17, Nancy L rated it it was amazing Shelves: This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers.

Sort of reminds me of an episode of Desperate housewives! D We are intruduced to an Ancient One and the Queen in this part of the story. You have to read on to find out what their agenda's are, as they're both mysterious magical beings. Like the council, are they evil, creating lies to gain allies? Seems everyone has their own agenda but the lines of who's good and evil are blurred throughout the first half of the book. There is no predictablility in this story at all. The story jumps from one group to another, combines some of them together, until the end when they all converge during the fight. Being Mark, I thought the war might end up in some sort of orgy!! LOL Did the war actually decide a winner? View all 6 comments. Nov 05, Robert rated it really liked it Shelves: The action picked up right where Peril left off and never stopped until the very end.
All of the original characters where there along with several new ones to keep the story moving along. Lots of keep track of but still a great tale. Thankfully, there was a "to be continued" notation which means we have a third installment to look forward to. Nov 16, Leaundra rated it it was amazing. Okay now I can exhale. Centaur's Awakening (Keeper of the Land, #2) by Mark Alders
Reading it that slowly only tortured me anyway. I was reading a few pages at a time and it only allowed my mind to makeup scenarios that were always worse than what actually happened. This world that Mark has created is brilliant. He draws for you these vivid pictures that as you read they get their hooks into you so that you feel the heat, smell the dust, and for all the naked people running around; the damn itchy grass.
Reading this was like watching a training wreck with sick fascination. When you close your eyes at night, you see it. I had to watch as I became disappointed in Logan for not asking for help and then because he gave up and then when he started worshipping Aidenock again. We will forget that I got excited for about two paragraphs when Aidenock was reborn.
And then I had to watch the power struggle between Aidenock and Logan and then Logan got stupid again after he got his brains sucked out. Logan is the most tortured character in this series and I have to believe that it is because somewhere he is truly loved…because he is getting no love at home. You cannot make me believe that the Epilogue is loved.
More like Stockholm Syndrome. I was made to believe that he was beyond redemption, thank you very much. He forgot he had a set and turned into a carpet for the centaurs wipe their hooves on. I read her sections with one eye closed waiting for the disaster that she was sure to bring with her.
Grab your chips and dip and select a place to nest until you are finished. Dec 04, Jess rated it it was amazing Shelves: Can't wait to find out what happens to Logan in the next book.
