It is frustrating to buy a great pattern, a pretty fabric like printed chiffon or satin only to realize I didn't know how to handle them and all the problems they could have if not handle correctly. With this book I either avoid those types of fabric or followed their suggestions if I want to challenge myself getting out of my comfort zone. This is a really great guide book listing various types of material. I just wish it came with real swatches inside the book, but this book gives an in dept description of various fabrics.
The book shows excellent colorful pictures. It provides you with information on material usage and what size needles to use on the material. As well as what types of sewing stitches used on the fabric. I like this book a lot and it is a great reference book to have in your library. It's a good purchase.

I have another of Claire's sewing books in hardbound and am so happy that we now can get her books on the Kindle. I teach sewing classes and to be able to have this readily available to refer to is great. I've told many of our customers, and my students, about this.
Hopefully more are on the way as this is the best way to keep reference books on hand. Claire's books are very up to date and the information is always correct. It is exactly what I was looking This Book arrived on time and in good condition. It is exactly what I was looking for and is most informative, I am sure it will help me make the right choice of fabric for my garments now. This is a great resource for anyone who works with fabric. Great info on working with most fabrics. Wish I would have gotten this years ago.
