It was the end of a long day and I decided to pick it up for some reading before I went to sleep I could not put the book down. I read it while I was cooking breakfast the next day, during my breaks at work. I could not put it down. I was taken in immediately by the characters and the story. I loved how there were several stories going on throughout the chapters and how everything worked it's way together. Like a puzzle the pieces that were coming together created this great story.
I can not wait to read their other books and look forward to further writings. One person found this helpful. Couldn't put the book down face paced and intriguing. Has revelence to today's world.
Shows how easily people can be led buy lies and half turths. We see God bieng removed from every facet of society today by our politicians. The characters are interesting. I'll keep this short because I don't want to give away any part of the plot. I thought the book started a little slow, but once I got a few chapters into it I started to really enjoy it. The characters are interesting, particularly the main character, Tania.
I can't say anything about the ending without giving it away. I'll just say that not all of the lose ends are tied up. Immediately upon finishing the book I was annoyed at this, but I think the authors intended readers to have to think about the ending of the book rather than closing it completely satisfied and moving on to the next book. George Orwell said, "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. The message of truth could not be clearer. We follow Tania, a typical teen trying to grow up in the sometimes cruel world.
Her search for answers occurs at a time of deceit such as Orwell spoke, and therefore leads her to far more dire circumstances than your average teen discovers. It would take only a nudge to make the United States exactly as Barr and Lynch portray, and therein lays the impetus to page-turn. It's like watching an automobile accident. Worse is to come. He finds out he owes large to the casino owner who runs the hotel. He has no way of paying off his debt as his new wife has run off to the Med with all his money. Now the fun starts for Doc as he has to fall back on his old CIA ways to figure out how not to end up under a fresh patch of newly-dug sand in the desert.
Once you start reading and get into the story it's hard to stop there are so many characters but the main character is the most interesting author did a great job of keeping your interest and definition of each character and their roles. I thorougly enjoyed reading this book. What a cast of quirky characters! Doc, Merlin, and Summerman became real people with all their unique personalities.
Author Snow did a great job of creating a story filled with suspense and unexpected twists and turns. Look forward to reading more in the Damaged Posse Series. I am nearing the end of American Midnight and I realized that I was purposely slowing my pace to complete this book. I just don't want it to end. I love Doc and Merlin and I am not sure what Summerman will do next, but I am sure it will be compelling.
American Midnight at Village Tavern
I love all of the Damage Posse books. Keep writing B R Snow. Thanks for all of the charecters and all of their facets and colors and humor. I want to meet them at the movies too. Doc goes to Vegas for a gambling binge and gets hired to straighten out the implementation of a new computer system.
Kindle Feature Spotlight
There are many interesting characters, lots of action, and lots of surprises. Many will enjoy even if they have not been at an organization implementing a new computer system, but people have the experience will particularly enjoy it. There is some bumbling government involvement. There is very, very little violence and the sex is not explicit. Mature teenagers should be OK with it.

Story started out very good but all these technology mysteries. I prefer lighter reading than this book. One person found this helpful. The book was fast paced, beautifully written, and well thought out.
Loved the sense of humor used and the way there were explanations for unique happening. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. Love the twists and the touch of mysticism.
My favorite lines concerned why the Chinese should fight for regime change. See all 89 reviews. Most recent customer reviews. Published 4 months ago. Published 5 months ago. Published 1 year ago. But I'm sure he'll appreciate the feedback from me.
The first half of the story was pleasantly predictable, with a slow pace and some humorous scenes. The intrigue was there, but it wasn't quite front and center, which I liked. I thought maybe this was how the whole book was First of all, I just wanted to say how proud I am of my cousin for co-writing this book. I thought maybe this was how the whole book was going to be, and I was prepared for a relaxing semi-thriller. And then the explosion happened. I really can't see a reason for her dying in the explosion! When she got in her car right before the bomb went off, I thought she was gonna get through it fine.
And then that truck went out of control. Also, I thought it wasn't necessary for Jeremy to get killed either. I think the authors kind of wanted looser characters out of the way because there were already a lot of people involved with the ending. Yes, they all got out safely. Yes, they found a secure hiding spot. But what about the Unity Party? They were still running rampant when the book ended! The rest of America was still in jeopardy when we left Jeff and Tania's side to read the prologue. Does this mean there will be a sequel?
I'm not sure at all. I'll have to ask my cousin, but I have a hunch that they [the authors] mean to leave the story just like that. No first-person witness testimony from Tania to the world about the cruelties of the Unity Party, no incriminating evidence from the trunk of their getaway car to pinpoint President Allen or Russel Johnson.
Nothing save for a "legend" about a girl called Hidalgo. Too much is left unfinished! The last thing I want to say is that I couldn't rate it five stars because of the belief incorporated into the story, the one that says when you die you go to Heaven directly.

I just simply don't believe that. So, four stars for the awesome writing, one star missing for the reasons I mentioned. And I must end with this: I'm so proud of you, cousin!
And I can't wait to read After the Cross. Sep 29, Julia rated it liked it. This is a political thriller. Tania's family is torn apart by tragedy and differences of opinion about politics and religion.
