Perhaps this scenario will seem familiar to you? I was eyeballing the Lions Thanksgiving Day, because the true odds looked fairly close to a coin flip from where I stood. I pulled up my trusty spreadsheet, punched in my true odds, punched in the moneyline figures, and the column that shows my edge on every bet was clear: So I quickly logged out of my BetOnline. AG account before doing something I would regret in three short hours.
The same was true of the Cowboys, and the Saints. It definitely gives you something to think about. A masterpiece of supernatural suspense! Lewis Aleman's dramatic shifts in tone and rich characterization create anxiety and dread from start to finish. Imagine watching "The Sixth Sense" after being told there's a twist; it's like watching a horror film in which the soundtrack shifts and waiting for something to go horribly wrong. The paranoia is cut by scenes of classic detective noir and deep introspection, as well as the first truly authentic descriptions of New Orleans' underground music scene!
Hot and Cold Streaks
A book like no other! The tones of the "Laura" chapters are a high schooler's rendition of demonic. The "Detective" chapters are just boring old depressed. I can't understand the high reviews on this one, unless the readers out there prefer their works of fiction to have 2 of 3 methapors per sentence minimum. Save your money, I can't even get past the halfway point. This book is everything I thought it would be!

So bad I couldn't finish it. Would give 0 stars if possible. Should get an award for worst fiction and even worse writing. Mostly long droning pages of descriptions. Something that in his old days Dean Koontz could have gotten away with. Usually if a story is bad I can at least skim through to find out what happens but not this one. See all 34 reviews.
