Objective The aim of the present study was to audit the current use of medical records to determine completeness and concordance with other sources of medical information. A quantitative audit was performed for detailed patient information and medical record keeping, as well as data collection, storage and utilisation. Using each hospital's current online clinical database, scanned files and paperwork available for each patient audited, the reviewers sourced as much relevant information as possible within a min time allocation from both the record and the discharge summary.
All audited discharge summaries lacked at least one of the following: Conclusions The quality of medical data captured and information management is variable across hospitals. It is recommended that medical history documentation guidelines and standardised discharge summaries be implemented in Australian healthcare services.
What is known about this topic? Australia has a complex health system, the government has approved funding to develop a universal online electronic medical record system and is currently trialling this in an opt-out style in the Napean Blue Mountains NSW and in Northern Queensland. Congratulations on a fine first book.
Can't wait for the Darcy's next book. After a law enforcement as a Special Agent, it generally doesn't take me too long to figure out the plot twists in any crime story. Kyle Darcy had me twisting, unable to put "Under Current Conditions" down following the story, an incredible journey through the Boston landscapes with characters written so beautifully that I felt I knew them each. The twists and turns, the dark alleys, the small clues, the tempting leads- still lead me astray and kept me intrigued until the very last.
I couldn't wait t find out who the victim was, how the were murdered, and had a list of potential victims and suspect- with nothing given away! Martin was an incredible character- an average guy, just going to work, doing his job, until a set of circumstances changes his life The story unfolds cleverly, and builds tension as you follow Martin dealing with his project, twists interject, which leave you wondering, why is that brought in? But every word is necessary, and every twist and turn becomes revealed-and each keeps the reader wanting more, and more.
It could happen to anyone I bought five copies of this book for my pals so that they would not steal my copy. This book was the very best psychological crime story I've ever read, and I've read a great many. It had me from the Prolog! Pat Cornwall, get ready to turn in your crown, there's a new king in town by the name of Kyle Darcy. I can't wait for his next book. Kyle Darcy's Under Current Conditions is by far my best read of the year. Darcy's writing style brings his interesting characters to life and makes you seem as if you are present during the entire story.
This story was told with great imagery and interesting plot twists. He also makes reference to many interesting locations throughout the Boston area, which was a nice touch. I definitely recommend Under Current Conditions to anyone who is looking for an entertaining and intriguing page tuner. I live in Boston and I am familiar with the locations where some of the events in the book take place which made it a more interesting read for me. There are several parallel stories running at the same time that all involve the main character, but by the end they are all resolved and tie together nicely.
There are some pretty unexpected plot twists which make the book fast paced and a pretty quick read. I thought it was very well written and kept me entertained throughout - a definite recommended read. I have read the book in a personal best, 6 hours. The author shares his most personal feelings and thoughts and allows you in to sit right besides him along his 9 week journey.
If you live in the south shore of Boston, like ice hockey, or are stuck in traffic everyday of your commute you will feel right at home and if you are Irish you will love his explanation of corned beef and cabbage. It will make you laugh, cry and wonder. I had the privilege of meeting the author prior to reading the book and you will definitely want to meet him after you read the book. He lives up to the tradition of the Irish being the best storytellers.

I finished the book over the span of two days and when I found the free time I couldn't put the book down. Maybe it's because it takes place in Boston which is near and dear to my heart and maybe because the story is fiction and non-fiction all rolled into one.

I really loved the book and can't wait for Kyle's next book to come out. Nov 04, Jennifer P rated it it was amazing. There are some pretty unexpected plot twists which make the book fast paced and a pretty quick read. Aug 31, Bob rated it really liked it. I met Kyle last spring at an author's night in Milford MA. After hearing him speak I purchased his book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and knowing that it was based on truths made the business dealings and the players all the more interesting. If you read the book you must invest yourself in the first few chapters as you get to know the characters, but once invested you'll enjoy the book completely.
Mar 15, Amy Cahillane rated it it was ok. I just didn't get this book The story about the business dealings that went on was interesting, and kept me reading, but there was too little detail in the parallel stories, and I hated the ending, and James O'neil rated it it was amazing Jul 22,
