Choosing not to read them, because you don't like how people are treated doesn't help bring certain behaviors to light. We are looking forward to reading the next book at Advent time next year. Tabitha's Travels: A Family Story For Advent by Arnold Ytreeide
The stories are weaved with Scripture and with each other and the characters just jump off the pages and have lives of their own. Dec 30, Cindilee rated it it was amazing. From the start, the main character was resentful toward everyone and everything, unhappy because she was born a girl.
Feminist attitudes were blatant and inescapable, and it felt like that was the main message in every reading. I flipped ahead to various random parts of the book and every reading included this anger and disrespectful dialogue. I am happy we were able to finish this well before we start his next book "Ishtar" for advent. Caution for violence and intense action. These books brought up a lot of discussion about the times in which Jesus grew up.
The end of each reading has scripture and then how we can relate to our life now. We love the entire series of advent and lent books by Arnold Ytreeide. The historical context is so rich and the plot is so captivating. Highly recommend to all families as they prepare for Christmas and Easter!

He has written a great advent book with girls in mind. This book is a historical fiction masterpiece.

This book is book 2 of 3 in the Jotham's Journey series. The best Advent books for families ever. You and your family will be rivited by the story line each night, while being blessed by the daily I don't know why the price went up so much more than it was last year. But the series is great. I've read them to my kids for 4 years. They are 9 and 10 now and still love them.
