In a challenging economy, with golf being down not only in rounds played, but equipment and apparel sales, we need to rely on each other to continue to drive ideas for our patrons, customers, and members. This notoriety has brought numerous new golfing members and golf school students to Red Ledges, which has significantly increased operational revenues. As a teaching professional, the coverage the GRAA gives to instruction is invaluable to me, providing me with ideas and best practices from some of the best instructors in the country!
Many best practices shared by experts at other facilities can only help to improve revenue and profitability at my facility. New ways to do things or something a little different is hard to think of when we are all consumed in our own facilities. I also like that GRAA has incorporated videos, which is even more descriptive and love to see the visual aspect. Because they do a tremendous job of recognizing the many deserving golf teachers across the country.
Definitely helped me improve as an instructor and the bottom line of my facility! We look forward to gathering more ideas in the future from the GRAA, and continuing to improve our golf facilities and the service to our membership. It was great having Mike Malaska there; he really kept things interesting and was very helpful with his insight.

I look forward to more educational opportunities through the GRAA. Great agenda and excellent program! Their association encourages golf professionals and facility operators to get excited about utilizing our range to grow this great game. The GRAA helps all facilities to offer and show the best ideas, amenities and services possible for all golfers to enjoy.
The association is very adamant about helping to promote the best facilities and instructors who do that!
Fairways and Greens Golf Center – Practice Made Perfect.
It is always nice to be rewarded for our work, especially from a well respected and leading industry organization such as the GRAA. We arrived expecting to have breakfast at the clubhouse. Although not mentioned on the website or reflected in rates , there was no clubhouse - just a temporary trailer while clubhouse was under construction. So our breakfast option were "turkey" sandwiches, I discovered part of the way through the sandwich that the funny taste was nearly-raw bacon on the "turkey" sandwich. Despite confusion about how to get your clubs to the cart there was no bag drop , staff offered no explanation unless queried.
After hole number 2, we waited on every hole - sometimes with 3 groups on a tee. Not sure why it took me 29 years to play this course - but shame on me!!! It was new to me to not really have a cart path, but they had them where needed. Played solo with 3 course rookies as well and they felt the same - we would have played again the next day!
Papago was a nice Course. It was close to the airport and allowed us to get in a round before dark. Well cared for, attentive staff, and fun to play. Would definitely go back!
Nice but could be better cared for. Traps are very hard.
Fairways and Greens Golf Center
Layout has a number of unusual holes. Par 3's are very long even from white tees. I have a 14 index and was challenged by the white tees. Overall I was disappointed in the condition of the course and expect it to get worse as it gets hotter and dries out. Driving range is pretty good. Staff was very friendly. The remainder was a bit rough. Review of Papago Golf Course.
