I should have asked, I guess. I drink my coffee black, so I don't have much to share in the way of special drinks. However, I've had their Peruvian house drip as well as their Farmer's Extra Dark and was delighted both times. I think the most important part of this business is their ethical business model. To save you a lot of time, these guys work directly with coffee farmers, cut out middlemen, and are able to pay farmers about six times more per cup of coffee than a conventional coffee house.
That gives me good feels, but not everyone cares about that. Nobody in Sacramento can compare to Pachamama. The coffee is organic and fresh, this is how coffee is meant to be. No over roasted, corporate chain-store coffee here. Each employee I've met knows coffee, how it's grown, how it's harvested, processed, roasted and prepared correctly for maximum satisfaction. Another hole in the wall favorite, this place's Oaxaca Mochas are delicious!
It tends to lean on the pricer side but given the company's mission statement and it being run by the farmers that actually cultivate the coffee beans, I'm happy to support their cause. The location itself is pretty big and has a nice setup for anybody looking to get some homework done.
Yay best new coffee house. Unpretentious and love that there isn't a crazy upcharge for soy This is a actual warehouse. I purchased the five sister's bean. And yesterday it just so happened their system was down so they only accepted cash. It was a bummer. Luckily, my co-worker had cash so I could purchase the beans.
They grind the beans for you there too. By the way, they are hidden in the alley way and this place is a real gem. They have great prices on really tasty beans. I'm definitely going back to buy the beans there. First off the decor and atmosphere is pretty great. It's pretty cool what they do with organic farmers, too. The staff is friendly too. However, the wait is extremely long minutes for two lattes. Especially since we were the only people making an order at that time and they had three baristas twiddling their thumbs when we entered the door.
Waiting is acceptable if you get good drinks, but we felt our lattes were way too sugary and pretty meh. We're no coffee aficionados, but both of us didn't like our drinks latte, vanilla bean latte. If we weren't leaving in a rush we probably would have asked them to redo our drinks. We also thought it was weird they didn't take our names at all and just announced the drink was ready. My name is not "Vanilla Bean Latte", even Starbucks will announce your name!!! As a matter of fact, that situation lead to the next customer after us thinking his drink was just prepared and drinking one of our drinks.
They better up their game to compete. Good concept, bad execution for coffee. Lattes and pastries are my exclusive lens for looking into and then reviewing coffee houses. Pachamama gets high marks for using a distinctively flavorful roast for the espresso that went into my latte. The baristas maintain the expected balance of good service and aloof professionalism. The setting combines location a few feet from midtown's epicenter but on a side street that gives a more relaxed setting and a sense of discovery followed by inside-knowledge of the local scene.
Alas, the pastries from Sugar Plum appeal to those of you who care about gluten and such; but I am an unrepentent fan of Bella Bru's cholesterol-laded indulgences. La Flor De Africa beans is so good iced and black. It is worth a try, folks. I'm sure you'll love it! Such a cool Co-Op. I loved the home brew demonstration at the grand opening, and all the staff were amazing. Great coffee, great mission, and very cool location. Can't wait to see what else they will offer in the future and what they'll expand into. This place looks great. Roast coffee in back. I'm so going to be a regular here.
Today is their grand opening. I will drive 25 minutes to pick up fresh organic beans from Pachamama! With every bag of coffee beans purchased you are supporting an organic farmer. I am waiting for the location on J street to either expand their seating and parking lot, or move to a better location! The aroma of coffee that hits you in the face as soon as the door opens lets you know that you are in for an amazing experience. Unpretentious and love that there isn't a crazy upcharge for soy. This is a actual warehouse. Since , Pachamama Coffee has been a model for vertical integration in the coffee industry. Owned and governed by farmers from Ethiopia, Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Mexico, they now operate a roastery, wholesale operation, online retail service, and two coffeebars.
Pachamama has remained true to its vision since the beginning: This allows small-scale family farmers to invest in the future of their farms without being subject to the volatility of the market for green coffee. Ownership and governance provide stability and increased self-efficacy, and incentivizes the production of the best organic coffee possible.
Pachamama's member-cooperatives represent tens of thousands of families in Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico and Ethiopia. Buying organic coffee directly from farmers means better coffee for you, a better life for the farm family and a healthier environment for us all. Pachamama distributes freshly roasted coffee web-direct and wholesale to select retailers.

The flavour is quite rich and is equally tasty drunk as a latte as when drunk black. Quite smooth with not a hint of a bitter after-taste. I will certainly be buying more. A great talking point at the dinner table! Excellent price and very quick secure delivery. I wasnt disappointed, it has a great and unique flavour and i will be buying more as gifts in the future.

I just wanted to add a review to your site. The delivery service was excellent and very quick with Customer Services being the best I have experienced in a long time. I had emailed to ask for a Kopi Luwak certificate to be included in my delivery as it was a gift - not only did I get an immediate, polite and friendly reply but the coffee and certificate arrived the next day.
I have not tried the coffees as I left my Dad savouring the choice but the delicious smell when I opened the delivery pack was amazing. I have no hesitation to recommend The Love of Coffee and definitely will be using them again for Dad's birthday and to treat myself to some of their exotic coffees.

Its great made on a stove-top. Really great service as well. I had problems signing in not TLoC''s fault and a few attempts later I had still not placed my order. Monday AM, I had an email waiting, asking if there was anything that TLoC could do to help and sure enough my order went through. Unheard-of great service from an online supplier. After originally having an item missing and contacting the sales team they couldn't do enough to ensure that everything was resolved as quickly as possible. Even then, they contacted me to check everything had arrived safely.

Fantastic customer service and wouldn't hesitate to order again. As a non-coffee drinker myself, even I loved the smell of the strawberries and cream flavour! She certainly thinks it is a winning flavour. I can forsee more orders of this rum coffee! Brilliant espresso, smooth, long and hugely deep. No hint of bitterness.
